About me

My name is Dominic Wiersma, a self-employed Network Consultant living in the Netherlands with my wife. For the last 15+ years, I’ve been working in the field of IT helping companies grow, secure and expand their network.

Aside from being a network and security consultant, I love to have my own blog and write about stuff I find interesting. I love the art of SEO and everything that’s associated with it. For me, it’s like a game of chess.
A strategy game, if you will.

My Biography

Back in 2008, I started my first job as a systems engineer. At that time I didn’t have a clue about what I was going to do with my future career. I didn’t even know if I’d stay in IT in the first place. Some day I landed in a networking class in school. The teacher Mr. Silano, a retired CCIE grad, gave some networking lessons. From that moment I knew I was heading into the networking field. Although school was fun, overall it felt like a waste of time. At that moment I decided to quit school and self-educate. It didn’t take long before I got my Cisco CCNA certification, and then my CCNA Security. Slowly I moved more into the networking field and started as an NOC Engineer. When my CCNP certification was done I moved up the ranks in various companies. I worked for various ISPs and MSSPs as a senior network engineer and security engineer. Back in 2018 I decided to quit my job and started to work for myself as an independent network and security consultant.
